Discovering the first “Guide to the best Italian cocktail bar”
by Francesco Del Grosso
Let’s rewind the hands of the clock and go back to the genesis of the project: where, how and when did the idea of the app “Guide to the best cocktail bars in Italy”?
The Guide, and therefore the application, was born three years ago, almost simultaneously with the eponymous magazine I founded, which is called BlueBlazer. I have been involved in cinema for many years, a sector that is full of magazines, websites and specialized magazines. At the time I was also a true mixing enthusiast and this led me to ask myself several times why there were not so many magazines trying to talk to a generalist public of such an interesting sector. So I put together a team of journalists with this passion in common and we first founded the magazine, shortly after the guide. This was born because there were no specific guides for the cocktail bar sector – and they do not yet exist – apart from ours. There were guides dedicated to restaurants, cafes, patisseries and anything else related to food & wine, but there were no guides for cocktails.
Spectacle us how it works and where can we download it?
The app is a virtual container, downloadable on iOS and Android platforms [therefore on apple store or at
www.blueblazer.it/app], containing addresses, information and news on the best cocktail bars in Italy. On the guide there are over 160 bars representing all the regions, with an ever-increasing attention to the provinces, as interesting as they are often difficult to discover. In this way they find space next to the big cities like Rome, Milan and Florence, a reality with a few hundred inhabitants, like Acquapendente, in the province of Viterbo, or Mirano, not far from Venice.
