How was Il Granaio born?
It was born about twenty years ago from the passion and love of a family. The concept of family and home are the key elements of this magical place where relaxation, nature and good food are strengths. Il Granaio it’s a place that make you feel at home welcomed in harmony and this is what we want to bring out. Here you can breathe a family atmosphere because this is what we are. Nature for us is an important element and over the years we have designed and expanded our spaces in harmony with it.
How would you describe the style of your location?
A structure that fully interprets the Sicilian style in a structure of contemporary comfort. We have created a place with the aim of bringing the customer back to a dimension of calm and protection. Almost like a shelter safe from everyday stress. Everything is designed according to the principle of slow living. When our customers cross the main gate, they begin to breathe more deeply and we always notice a relaxed smile. The structure boasts eleven rooms and suites equipped with all comforts, with modern whirlpool baths to offer an increasingly personalized service. We also have a large wellness center that includes a SPA dedicated to those who want to regenerate themselves with wellness, aroma therapy, sensory massages (operated by the best holistic professionals) and beauty treatments. We have a very modern “en plain air” gym with the most sophisticated Technogym equipment to do physical activity completely immersed in the greenery. Great pride for us is the kitchen where most of the raw material is produced by us with Km 0 products, much appreciated by our customers. We have also created an exclusive food line including an ancient grain pasta, preserves and jams. At the stove there is my mother who every day processes pasta by hand and delights our guests with traditional recipes, a strictly Modica gastronomic heritage. We have a vegetable garden and an orchard where often our guests like to visit and harvest the fruits from the plant to consume them at the moment. The seasonality of fruit and vegetables is important to us.
Do you have guests who have been coming to you from all over the world for over twenty years, what is your secret?
There are no secrets, but maximum transparency. We try to give what we produce, from the garden to the table without compromise. We work with local farmers to enrich our offer by selecting only the best of our territory. Our philosophy is authentically zero km. We offer friendly and welcoming hospitality, always using discretion to let everyone live their own intimacy. After twenty years it’s nice to see that our customers come back on time and appreciate our commitment, food, landscapes and structure simply because beyond the dominant fashions and trends we have remained true to ourselves.
