The beauty of cinema in the streets to join citizens and territories. In the circuit of the seventeenth edition of the Sa.Fi.Ter – Salento Finibus Terrae – International Short Film Festival, the municipalities of Sammichele di Bari, Fasano and San Severo debut. The itinerant film festival, the only one of its kind in Europe, is scheduled this year from 3 to 9 July in the three locations chosen by the director Romeo Conte and with the organization of his Events Production.
Even this year some suggestive corners of Puglia will host screen and chairs under the starry sky, a great show: in a week 5 feature films and 45 short films will be screened in competition, made by international productions from Italy, Iran, Poland, France, Mexico, Serbia, Spain, Great Britain and Germany.
It will be an intense week in which the enthusiasts will be able to have a real feast of the most recent works by filmmakers and screenwriters, chosen with great attention by the artistic director, always sensitive to the transformations of the cinematographic languages and to the themes treated.
Not just projections: another strength of the festival is the ability to create debate about what you will see. For each evening, in fact, there will be meetings with guests of the cinema who will dialogue with the public.
“The short film is a genre that may seem niche, but that attracts many newcomers to the camera as well as the great directors”, Conte comments. “It is not a simple exercise to transmit intense emotions and condense stories and situations into an extremely filmed shorter than the classic film. And during the evenings there will be
something for everyone”, he assures.
There are four categories in competition: Diritti Umani, Corto Italia, Mondo Corto, Commedia in Corto. A category is dedicated to each host city and each will conclude the event with the awarding of the best shorts for its sections. The appointments are free and open to all.
