Sixteenth century complex immersed in the Tuscan scenery: in this context, the restaurant of Limonaia of Villa Rospigliosi lives. The structure is one of the most famous and sought after in Prato and was initially born in May 2001 by the will of Carlo and Paola Rospigliosi and Maria Paola Agnani as a space for events. Subsequently transformed into a restaurant by Maria Paola with the aim of offering a sought-after and high quality cuisine inspired by the Tuscan tradition.

The restaurant has always been the scene of important and significant events in people’s lives, including Auditors, Parliamentarians, Artists and Consuls. The structure accommodates events of various kinds (such as weddings, institutional events, business dinners, baptisms, communions, etc.) capable of bringing together hundreds of people. The location is divided between the ancient interior of the villa, furnished in full Tuscan style with recalled French bistrot and the outdoor garden, a scenery of spectacular sunset appetizers and outstanding cultural events. In this context, La Limonaia, promotes the artistic cause, hosts artists and constantly tries to combine the philosophy of good food and culture.

The kitchen has always been the highlight of the activity. The actual Chef is the extravagant Elisa Masoni who, together with her staff, transforms a simple dinner into a real experience. In this place, creativity and tradition collide to give life to innovative and sought-after dishes: an example is the “Tortellino di Prato with grain fondue, Alchermes drops and grain powder” or even the most demanding dessert “Cream sphere Mascarpone, coffee heart and Baileys sauce”.

The mission of the owner is to ensure excellent dishes using fresh market produce and zero km: limonaia owns a domestic production that uses local ingredients. Bread, baked directly between the walls of the villa, is made exclusively with “Gran Prato” flour.

Limonaia does not want to be just a restaurant but a theater where traditional cuisine, innovation, art an history coexist in harmony.
