In the heart of Scicli, Baroque town near Ragusa in Sicily, at the entrance of the Cava di San Bartolomeo there is the “Osteria dei Tre Colli”. Once you enter the room the first thing you see is a terrace overlooking the town. An added value, as the same manager, Lucia Cilia, tells us. The real protagonists are the typical dishes. Lucia tells us the secret of her success and also the effort of every day.

How was the idea of starting this activity born?

Since I was a teenager I worked in the sector. I always had the desire to express myself by opening a club. Eight years ago I spoke seriously to my husband. He supported me from the first moment and so the Osteria was born. I don’t deny – she adds – that it was risky . Eight years ago in Scicli there were not many tourists and the town did not have today’s restaurants and facilities. In fact, the first two years were the most difficult, but they have been necessary to win the confidence of those who are our regular customers today. A big boost came for me from tourism, which has brought many visitors to the city of Scicli, many of them come back. I have been watching this phenomenon for at least six years. Moreover, more and more tourists are in town. Scicli woke up and with it all the activities of the place. I think I made the right choice at the right time.
